Upholstery Repair vs. Reupholstering
The phrases “upholstery repair” and “reupholstering” are often used interchangeably but are quite different.
Reupholstering: Reupholstering can be an exhaustive and lengthy process. Depending on the condition of your furniture, it can take weeks to complete. You may need repairs to the frame, support, and entirely new padding. It’s unlikely the same upholstery fabric originally used will be available, so you’ll need to purchase completely new fabric to reupholster your sofa or chair. While frequently cheaper than purchasing a new sofa, this is usually a more expensive option than upholstery repair.
Upholstery Repair: Assuming your current frame and support are in good condition, sofa upholstery repair can often fix the issue. Voigt can remove stains, stitch up minor cuts, and buff out scratches on leather surfaces.
